Anna Mani was a distinguished physicist and meteorologist who worked in India. Anna Mani made a number of significant contributions to the field of meteorology and weather sciences in India.
Anna Mani’s birthday is August 23rd, and she was born in Kerala, India, in 1918. She developed a passion for the natural world at a young age and went on to study physics and meteorology in college.
Anna Mani marriage:
Never having wed, Anna Mani passed away in Thiruvananthapuram on August 16, 2001, following a stroke he suffered in 1996.
“I should be most unhappy to wake up without the prospect of some work to do,” she said in a 1991 interview in the World Meteorological Organisation bulletin. “But when I have done it, I enjoy reading and listening to music.”
In 1942, Anna Mani became a member of the India Meteorological Department and subsequently devoted her professional life to the investigation of atmospheric sciences and the production of weather forecasts. She was an integral part of the process that led to the establishment of numerous meteorological observatories all around the country.

The upper atmosphere, and more specifically the ionosphere, was the primary topic of investigation in Anna Mani’s field of research. Her research in this field contributed to a better understanding of the ways in which atmospheric phenomena influence communication and radio propagation through their effects.
Anna Mani’s career as a meteorologist was particularly impressive because she worked in a time when women’s participation in scientific and technology industries was limited. Many women were encouraged by her success to pursue careers in science.
Anna mani passed away as a result of the following: in 1994, Mani experienced a stroke, and she passed away on August 16, 2001 in Thiruvananthapuram, one week prior to her 83rd birthday.
Anna Mani was recognized and honored for her significant contributions to the fields of meteorology and science in India with a number of medals and accolades. In 1975, she was presented with the Padma Shri, which is considered to be one of India’s highest civilian honors.
Anna Mani’s work and dedication to the profession of meteorology in India have left an indelible mark thanks to Anna Mani’s contributions to the field. She is regarded as a trailblazer in the scientific community for her ability to break new ground and make important contributions to the field of atmospheric sciences.
