According to report cardiovascular disease is cause of death in number of cities having industrial infrastructures as well as in United States, and the incidence is growing in developing countries. Researcher from China recently detected “Resveratrol” type of compound present in red wine help in fighting with cardiovascular diseases by changing gut microlflora.
"Our results offer new insights into the mechanisms responsible for resveratrol's anti-atherosclerosis effects and indicate that gut microbiota may become an interesting target for pharmacological or dietary interventions to decrease the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases," said Man-tian Mi, PhD, principal investigator of the study and a researcher at the Research Center for Nutrition and Food Safety, Institute of Military Preventive Medicine, Third Military Medical University, Chongqing, China.
The concern research recently appears in Journal of American Society of Microbiology. Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) is well known in developing the risk of atherosclerosis type of cardiovascular disorder and in an experiments researcher detected that Resveratrol play an important role in inhibiting production of TMAO through gut microlflora.
