Researcher from University of Eastern Finland discovered type of new mechanism to block the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma type of liver cancer. The research may give hope for treatment of liver cancer in near future.
The concern research recently appears in Nature Medicine. Researcher suggested that in liver cancerous patients the function of protein p53 is disturbed and is dependent on the interaction between the Aurora kinase A (AURKA) and MYC proteins. The interaction of AURKA with specific drugs makes cancer cells to die.
At present there is no any effective treatment of this type of liver cancer is available and this research may play an important role for finding treatment of liver cancer.
