Researcher from University of Texas at Austin recently developed new technique for rapid detection of single Virus in urine sample .The concern technique is hope for fast identification of certain deadly infections like Zika,HIV and many more infectious disease.
The concern techniques recently appear in journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The technique is highly sensitive as it detects only singly virus while other leaves as a contaminants.
"The ultimate goal is to build a cheap, easy-to-use device to take into the field and measure the presence of a virus like Ebola in people on the spot," says Jeffrey Dick, chemistry graduate student and co-lead author of the study. "While we are still pretty far from this, this work is a leap in the right direction."
The techniques involve an electrode and a wire that conducts electricity. Researcher added urine sample of mouse having enzyme and antibodies that commonly stick with virus of interest. And after all get in contact with electrode then there spikes can be easily detected in electric current.
