Since 1987, Metrohm AG has been represented in India by Micro Devices and Computers. The company will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2022. In 1997, Metrohm took an equity partnership and the joint venture was formed as Micro Devices Metrohm Limited. At the beginning of 2010, the Indian promoters retired, and Indian operations became wholly-owned subsidiaries of Metrohm AG and were renamed Metrohm India Private Limited. Metrohm India is one of the few companies to have its Application Laboratory (1997), own CRM (2000) and ISO 9000 Certification (2001) before any other organization could envisage it. Metrohm India is one of the few MNC’s, which has a presence in 12 cities (Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vizag and Chennai) with 10 home offices at Gauhati, Baddi, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Indore, Goa and Trivandrum).
Metrohm India has been expanding its presence in India since 2010 by opening new offices and home offices as well as by buying most of its own offices, which indicates Metrohm’ s commitment to the Indian market and its customers.

Metrohm offers more than 100 instruments. Our goal is to be closer to our customers, so we plan to open a home office first and then a full-fledged office depending on the business.
We have been the first choice of our customers and thanks to all our customers who have put trust in us and have grown because of our customer’s patronage.
According to a survey conducted by a third party, Metrohm India was rated 8.6 on a scale of 10 in terms of its overall customer satisfaction. This survey has been conducted every three years since 2010. Metrohm India also has one of the lowest attrition rates in the industry and has a team of Senior Managers and Managers, who have been together for more than two decades.

We have a state-of-the-art laboratory at Chennai that supports our customers for training, feasibility studies before purchasing the instrument, method development, and other support. We also have built state of art studio for online demonstrations of the instruments, webinars, and other online events. In 2014, Metrohm AG decided to build its first Development Center outside Switzerland in India. We have already launched three products from this center. Fourth product is ready for launch, and work is going on some more products.
Quite a few employees from Metrohm India have been absorbed into Metrohm global organization or deputed for short term projects to Switzerland.

We also do number of projects for Metrohm AG in India which talks about the capabilities of Metrohm India team. Metrohm India employees are also part of various Global Teams of Metrohm AG.

COVID-19 is a global pandemic that has impacted all of us. Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees, customers, and partners. We are working around the clock to ensure; we protect our employees while still serving our customers specifically from the healthcare sector who required our services the most. I am proud of my colleagues who decided that it does not make any sense to sit at home and decided to work in the field after the first lockdown (May 8th 2020 to be precise) and have continued to do so to date. This also talks about teamwork, the concern of employees for the organization and employees’ confidence in the organization.

We had an elaborate protocol in place to take care of our employees and that gave the required confidence to all my colleagues. Some of us got infected, but we did not let that deter us from our responsibilities. We were able to provide medicines, food, etc. to the infected employees. The senior management was in constant contact with the infected employees.
We were able to quickly adapt to the changing environment and offered various solutions to our customers as an online support for technical, software and application queries, online demos, online webinars, etc.
Due to our presence in major cities and areas where our instruments number were high, we were able to cater to our customers without any restrictions and paperwork. Our customers also supported us very well and were very accommodating.
As an organization, we decided to work as normal and hence we did not go for any drastic actions like retrenchment, sending employees on leave, reducing the salaries, etc.

Metrohm India financially was ready for this kind of eventuality where we could see no business for a year or so. Metrohm India was able to pay Bonuses, Increments and incentives in the past two years (2020 & 2021) and we are already back to pre-Covid (2019) business levels in 2021
About the CEO and Managing Director, Metrohm India Private Limited – Mr. Deepak Parab

Deepak Parab, a fellow of the Electrochemical Society of India is a graduate in Chemistry and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science, is working as Managing Director & CEO Metrohm India Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metrohm AG, Switzerland. He is also a founder Director and member of the Board of Directors of another Metrohm AG subsidiary in India, Ohmic Research India Private Ltd., which is primarily engaged in the Design and Development of new analytical instruments. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Metrohm Middle East which is based out of UAE from Jan 2010 till Jan 2021.
He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Eppendorf India Limited from Jan. 2010 – Jan. 2014. He is also Vice President – Swiss India Chamber of Commerce since Jan. 2018. He was also Secretary, of the India Analytical Instrument Association for the years 2015 – 2017.
He has worked at various positions in Academic Institute (IIT Bombay) and in Industries (Geo-Chem Laboratories, Kopran Pharmaceuticals & Metrochem Industries) before switching over to the Sales and Marketing Profession in 1995.
Since 1999, he has been associated with Metrohm India and was promoted as MD & CEO in 2010. He has published a number of papers in Research Journals and various Industrial Magazines.
He is passionate about serving society and is focused mainly on education. He has constructed two classrooms in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and supported significantly in financial terms for a neo-natal ward at Shashun Hospital Pune.
He runs various initiatives like supporting children education through various NGO’s, supporting a school for autistic kids in Bangalore and scholarships for students who stood first in Xth and XIIth standard in his community. Through Metrohm India, the CSR Funds have been used for developing villages and schools with roads, digital schools, sanitation facilities in the schools, construction of classrooms, providing fees to underprivileged students for continuing their education in schools and colleges, distribution of notebooks, school bags and stationery etc.
