Scientists by using satellite based method now detected approx 39 sources which is not reported yet for making toxic air pollution. As we all knows one of main contributor of acid rain as well as toxic air pollutant is Sulfur Di Oxide (SO2) and is more dangerous to human beings.
As the research reports suggested these new 39 unreported sources of Sulfur Di Oxide is clusters of coal burning power plants, smelters, oil and gas operations found notably in the Middle East, but also in Mexico and parts of Russia and these all mystery identified in satellite based study of NASA during 2005 to 2014.
Apart from these team of researcher also located 75 other natural sources of emission of sulfur Di Oxide. Non-erupting volcanoes slowly leaking the toxic gas throughout the year.
"Quantifying the sulfur dioxide bull's-eyes is a two-step process that would not have been possible without two innovations in working with the satellite data," said co-author Nickolay Krotkov, an atmospheric scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
