Researcher from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute suggested that a combo therapy include dual stem cell transplant may reduce the risk of Neuroblastoma in children and the work is presented in annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. (Abstract LBA3).
Under result of experiment of conducted by researchers they found that about 61.8 percent of patients having treatment of dual Autologous stem cell transplantation (Stem cell of their owns instead of donor) become alive and cancer free compared to other 48.8 percent with single stem cell transplant.

"Our ability to treat children with Neuroblastoma has improved significantly over the past 25 years, particularly with the introduction of high-intensity chemotherapy regimens and stem-cell transplantation," says Lisa Diller, MD, chief medical officer of Dana-Farber/Boston Children's and senior author of the study. "The findings of this study define a new standard for the treatment of this disease."
