Efficient mixing is a vital activity in most cell culture, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical research. The 2Mag bioMIXdrive 2, unlike other magnetic stirrers, is optimized for cell culture and other sensitive laboratory applications. It provides maintenance-free, wear-free, and heat-free stirring.
The bioMIXdrive 2 is based on a proprietary magnetic drive technology that, because there is no mechanical wear, provides a long-term solution without the need for maintenance. The stirring occurs quickly and without vibration and is designed to limit shear stress.
The bioMIXdrive 2 has an ultra-flat stainless steel body and fits within laboratory incubators. It provides two stirring positions and is designed to handle sample volumes from 5 mL to 5,000 mL, increasing versatility.
The stirring speed for the bioMIXdrive 2 can be adjusted in the range of 5–250 rpm. At lower speeds, the stirring is performed in a smooth and controlled fashion, allowing mixing which is both thorough and gentle, and which will not adversely impact delicate cell cultures, nor the accuracy of the experiment.
The stirring performance of the bioMIXdrive 2 can be utilized for research performed in a CO₂ incubator. It is designed to perform its function without providing any heating, ensuring that the incubation environment is not disturbed.
The stirrer functions dependably between -10°C and +50°C, performing extremely well between 0 and 100% RH. This makes the device suitable for continuous operations in the most demanding environments.
