Dear Readers, Welcome to the latest issue of The Magazine
For some time now, an active focus has been placed on gut health. The increasing connections between digestive health and immunity and probiotics having clear links to people’s remedies. Among them, liquid probiotics are being preferred more and more because of their effectiveness and quick absorption in the body.
They are vital for the maintenance of a healthy gut flora with so-called “good bacteria.” Probiotics help with dietary decomposition, nutrient absorbing, and guarding against pathogenesis. Liquid probiotics work faster than capsules.
Search for probiotics aids that go beyond one strain. Searching for Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus rhamnosus has shown to not only relieve bloating but also aiding greatly with immunity strengthening.
Pro Tip: For optimal gut health, look for a product with five to ten strains.
CFU represents the count of living bacteria phonetically in the product. While more isn’t always better, a good liquid probiotic should contain at least 1 billion CFUs per serving. Some high-quality options boast up to 50 billion CFUs.
Be cautious: Having an excessive amount with no specific purpose may lead to sizable dosing and temporary bloating or discomfort.
Some flavoured and sweetened variants of liquid probiotics do come, but it is important to note the addition of sugar may negate the benefits you seek by serving as fuel for digestion, so go with products that contain stevia or monk fruit as sweeteners.
Prebiotics and probiotics. Other mature pre-biotic formulations package fiber reinforced elements, which are also known as inulin, or chicory root extract for bowel movements and serve to actually nourish the useful bacteria added. If you lack fiber in your diet, this could be a good ingredient to add.
Heat and light will influence a probiotic’s effectiveness. Although the majority require refrigeration in order to function properly, some newer liquid formulas are fridge-free because of state of the art micro encapsulation technology. Isolate would read the label diligently.
Look for non-GMO products that do not contain artificial colors or preservatives. Your gut will appreciate you for not exposing it to chemicals that have the potential to do more harm than good.
Reputable brands of probiotics will be transparent about their processes. Search for brands that offer third-party testing to check for bacterial counts and purity.
Some probiotics are made for specific conditions like IBS, lactose intolerance, or immune support. If you have a particular health problem, search for a formula that is designed to help with that.
Especially when there are existing health concerns, medications, or need guidance on nutrition, one should always reach out to a doctor or nutritionist prior to starting a new supplement routine.
