The group of Korean researcher recently working an excellent job over fighting against Superbugs. We all well knew that antibiotics play an important role in fighting against bacteria in all environmental conditions but sometimes due to excess use in treatments shows less effective. Every year over 0.7 million of patients died from multidrug resistant bacteria “Superbugs” and other nosocomial infections.
But for better treatment and fighting against these deadly multi drug resistant bacteria, an industry-academic collaborative group, affiliated with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), South Korea, developed an antibacterial masks for fighting against Staphylococcus aureus.
The Scientist Prof. Robert J. and team of researcher informed that they use a type of bacterial pigment known as “Violacein” which is one of violet pigment made naturally by bacteria present in nature, and the pigment is reported as one of best antibacterial, anticancer and antiviral agent. Scientists reported that this fabric could block the growth of MRSA and other multidrug resistant bacteria by 99.9 %.The team of researcher recently donated these masks to Dong Kang General Hospital, a local hospital in Ulsan, South Korea.
"This is first case where an antibacterial fabric was produced using Violacein. This fabric has the possibility to reduce the impact of super-bacterial infections. “And "We hope this donation will help public health."
