Use Of Certain Illegal Drug May Related With Severe Chronic Back Pain: Research Study

Researcher recently submitted study declaring that use of certain govt restricted drug named marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine associated with chronic back pain.

"Under research investigation team of researcher did survey among 5000 US adults in the period between 2009-2010 and found that about 13 % of adults have back pain of about three months the team of survey also ask them for their interest in using certain Govt restricted drugs and finally declared about 49 % of patients with chronic back pain with use of certain illegal drugs is back pain rate is higher by 14 % in comparison to those with 43 % of chronic back pain without using any illegal drugs.

The results also suggested a link between illicit drugs and prescription opioids among patients with cLBP. (Chronic back pain) Subjects who had ever used illicit drugs were more likely to have an active prescription for opioid analgesics: 22.5 percent versus 15 percent. "As we face a prescription opioid addiction epidemic, careful assessment of illicit drug use history may aid prescribing decisions." Dr. Shmagel and coauthors believe.
