Wheat is the most important cereal crop worldwide and has been used as an important staple crop for centuries. However, in certain individuals and genetically predisposed people, it causes certain disorders and conditions arising mainly from intolerances to its structural protein – Gluten. There are a myriad set of disorders that occur, varying from Auto immune to allergy to Innate immunity related disorders. The primary challenge facing us today is a lack of awareness of these disorders , their implications and preferred modes of treatment to ensure a good clinical outcome. He has worm multiple hats in his illustrious career having worked across the globe in different roles. He was awarded the HINDUSTAN TIMES TRAILBLAZER 2021 award for innovations during the COVID pandemic and for setting up India’s first ever COVID testing drive through in April 2020.
