Sechenov University researchers have successfully completed clinical trials from the world’s very first COVID-19 vaccine on volunteers, chief researcher Elena Smolyarchuk told a Russian news socket Sunday, July 12.
The Russian mission to India, at a tweet, quoted Smolyarchuk saying’the vaccine is’ safe’. Alexander Lukashev, Director of the Institute of Medical Parasitology Tropical and Vector-Borne disorders at Sechenov University, also vouched for the safety of the drug when speaking to local media. As per accounts, the first group of volunteers would be discharged July 15 and the 2nd batch would be discharged July 20. Moreover, the volunteers will stay under medical oversight in an outpatient basis after getting discharged.
Sechenov University has been reported to have started with the very first period of research on June 18 having a group of 18 volunteers. The 2nd group of 20 volunteers had been tested for the COVID-19 vaccine on June 2-3.
