Glassware used in laboratories must be cleaned regularly to provide accurate and trustworthy findings from experiments.

These are some tips for cleaning lab glassware:

1. Rinse glassware thoroughly with distilled water: To get rid of any possible chemicals or debris, thoroughly rinse the glassware with distilled water.
2. Use the proper detergent: Make sure you use a gentle detergent made specifically for scientific glassware. Regular soap shouldn’t be used because it could leave a film on the glassware.
3. Soak the glassware: Soak the glassware for at least an hour in the detergent solution. This will aid in removing any tenacious remains.
4. Scrub with a brush: Clean the interior of the glassware with a brush with soft bristles. Do not use anything abrasive that could scratch the glass.
5. Rinse with distilled water: To get rid of any detergent residue, thoroughly rinse the glassware in distilled water.
6. Dry the glassware by either air drying it or using a clean, lint-free towel.
7. Employ specialised cleaning agents: Chromic acid, piranha solution, or aqua regia may be needed to remove very tenacious residues. Please exercise caution when using these and pay close attention to the manufacturer’s instructions.
8. Properly store the glassware by keeping it dry and clean to avoid contamination.
