ICMR permits private Bengaluru clinic to give plasma treatment a shot Covid-19 patients

A private emergency clinic in Bengaluru has been given the gesture by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to direct clinical preliminaries on Covid-19 patients utilizing plasma treatment.

This was expressed by the Drugs Controller General of India in a letter to HCG Bangalore Institute of Oncology Speciality Center.

The authorization was allowed on Monday under the arrangements of New Drugs and Clinical Trial Rules, 2019.

“Award of authorization given to lead a clinical report in India entitled “Open-name, equal arm, Phase I/II Clinical Trial to assess wellbeing and adequacy of Convalescent plasma as treatment for COVID-19 Severe SARS-Cov-2 Disease,” DCGI Dr V G Somani said in the letter.

Sharing the letter on his Twitter handle, the Minister for Medical Education, Dr K Sudhakar, who himself is a clinical expert, expressed, “Plasma treatment holds incredible guarantee in treating Covid-19 patients and I am glad to advise ICMR consented to our solicitation and has given authorization for plasma treatment to Dr. Vishal Rao, HCG Bangalore Inst of Oncology.”

Sudhakar labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa while sharing the data.
