The escalating incidences of omicron variants across European countries has raised questions regarding possible a new wave of COVID-19 throughout the world. While scientists are still trying to figure out the nature of this variant in order in order to determine the best prevention strategy, a different variant is gaining attention. It is called Delmicron experts believe this strain is the one to blame for the COVID tsunami that has hit both the United States and Europe. It’s not too difficult to figure out, Delmicron is a combination of the Delta and Omicron variants.

Delmicron does not represent a novel coronavirus variant such as Alpha, Beta and others. It is a combination of two of the existing strains – Delta as well as Omicron. It is a double strain of COVID-19 that is rapidly spreading across the West.

The Delta variant was prevalent between mid-April and mid-June. It was the main cause of the coronavirus second wave which claimed the lives of millions all over the world.

Delmicron is the second variant in COVID-19 that is gaining popularity throughout the West. The name is taken from the combination of the coronavirus ‘ Delta variant and the Omicron variant, as both variants can be discovered all over the world including India.

As we all know that both the US and the UK are currently fighting the ravages of COVID-19 cases. In the US the research published from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have shown that the fast-growing Omicron variant is the most prevalent COVID-19 strain, accounting for 70% of the sequenced cases.

The World Health Organization has yet to make a statement on the assertions that a new strain is emerging.

In India there is no national task group on COVID-19 as well as COVID-19’s Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have utilized the term “Delmicron”.
